Diversionary Attack

Slight interruption thanks to a quick break for a small heart attack, luckily have dodged a bullet and blogging will resume shortly if slightly shakily.

  1. Hi Ross,
Playing an old Avalon Hill boardgame solo might be the thing. Something like that if you ahve one.
    Get better soon!

  2. As I commented on your other blog, Ross, take it easy.

Naps are good things . . . cats know this instictively . . . so do very young children . . . we need to heed their wisdom.

Perhaps this would be a good time to catch up on some of those books that we all have . . . you know, the ones we've been intending to read for the past many years.

Cut yourself a LOT of slack, my friend, don't let yourself get stressed.

    Take it EASY.

  3. As Bill suggested, why not play an old solo AH game,...if you can find a player.
As on "The Gathering"...take good care, mate.

  4. "Naps are good things" - I thought for a minute there Jeff was recommending Napoleonics, in a surprising turnaround :-)

Take it easy Ross and don't get distracted by the house and garden, it can all wait.

  5. Mr. Gill,

You are correct, I mean Naps as in "short sleeps", not as in Napoleonics.

Ross is far more in need of rest than pushing masses of lead around . . . at least right now.

By the way, I don't really "hate" Napoleonics. I understand why so many gamers are attracted to the period . . . but it has never resonated with me . . . and far far too many other periods do.

See, Ross, I'm not even getting into an argument . . . I'm remaining on an "even keel" . . . something that you need to do for a bit.

Your body needs some time to recover; we want you around for many years to come . . . so be smart and do NOT overdo anything, sir.

  6. Thank you all for the kind wishes and sage advice. Jeff, I'm with Steve, for a split second I thought you were recommending 15mm Naps but the reference to cats gave it away. Ever since Panzerblitz, I have associated CAT's with WWII :)

Running around the big table upstairs pushing 40mm lead doesn't sound appropriate right away, especially with temperatures expected to top 30 degrees and humid today, I think I'll retire to the lounge chair under the big old willow tree and emulate those cats in between casual contemplation of card table games and my selection of plastic figures. A sort of miniatures board game to pick up on Bill's suggestion.
